ABOUT POLE THEATRE

Pole Theatre is the most exciting and entertaining pole competition that's taking over the pole industry around the globe! Pole Theatre is now the biggest pole dance competition in the world!

It started in Sydney in 2013, and has run in over 25 countries around the world and counting!

Pole Theatre was created by sisters Michelle Shimmy and Maddie Sparkle (owners of www.poledanceacademy.com.au and www.shimmyandsparkle.com) to bring their love of pole dance and performance together on stage.

Pole Theatre encourages competitors to share their story through original and exciting performances in a style that they prefer. It is a performance-based competition.

Pole Theatre is open to all competitors, national and international, male and female, and single, doubles or group entries. Pole Theatre is more than a pole competition - Pole Theatre is an opportunity for pole performers to display their many and varied talents, in the creation of a visual spectacular to thrill and inspire their audience.

The focus of this competition is on the art of performance. Performers are encouraged to delve deep into their creative consciousness and envision a performance that will astonish and delight. Competitors must nominate one category that they wish to enter. A winner will be announced in each category, and an overall winner will also be announced. There are four categories in the competition:

In 2023 we are excited to announce that we have welcomed Katy Eve to the organisational team. Katy Eve is a well known pole dancer and performer who has competed in and won several Pole Theatre titles, both in Australia and on the international stage. Competing in Pole Theatre, allowed her to express herself in a unique and creative way showcasing her blend of strength, sensuality and captivating performances. As a new co-organiser of Pole Theatre, alongside Maddie Sparkle and Michelle Shimmy, Katy understands the significance of providing performers with the opportunity to bring their stories to life and convey a message though their performances. With a deep appreciation for the impact of Pole Theatre in the pole dance industry, Katy aims to support and inspire the next generation of pole dancers. By elevating the platform, she hopes to empower them to push the boundaries of what is possible and to tell their story.
